What Are Profiles?
A profile is a set of preferences that tells the AI how to write your content. Instead of explaining your brand voice every time you generate a post, you define it once and the AI remembers.
Each profile includes:
- Name — Label for easy identification (e.g., "My Fitness Brand", "Agency Client A")
- Posting Style — How you want to sound (casual, professional, witty, inspirational)
- Theme — What topics you focus on (fitness tips, tech news, food recipes)
- Target Audience — Who you're writing for (entrepreneurs, Gen Z, parents)
- Required Hashtags — Hashtags that must appear in every post
- Max Hashtags — Cap on total hashtags to keep posts clean
- Goal — What you want to achieve (engagement, traffic, brand awareness)
Why Profiles Matter
Without a profile, the AI generates generic content. With a profile, every post:
- Matches your brand's tone and personality
- Targets the right audience
- Includes your signature hashtags
- Stays within your content theme
This is especially powerful if you manage multiple brands or clients — each gets their own profile.
Creating a Profile
- Go to Profiles in the web app (or the Content tab in the Chrome extension)
- Click + New Profile
- Fill in the fields — name, posting style, theme, target audience, hashtags
- Click Save Profile
That's it. The profile is saved to your cloud account and available everywhere — web app and Chrome extension.
Switching Between Profiles
When generating content, you'll see a profile selector above the platform checkboxes. Click to switch between your profiles. The selected profile's preferences are applied to all generated content.
In the Chrome extension, the active profile is shown at the top of the Generate tab. Click "Switch Profile" to change it.
Tips for Great Profiles
- Be specific — "Casual, friendly, uses emojis" is better than "nice tone"
- Define your audience — "Small business owners aged 30-50" helps the AI tailor language
- Use required hashtags sparingly — 2-3 brand hashtags max, let the AI add contextual ones
- Create separate profiles for different content types (educational vs promotional)
Profile Impact on Content
The profile affects:
- Generate — All new content uses the active profile's voice
- Refine — AI refinement respects the profile's style when improving posts
- Regenerate — Fresh content is generated using the same profile context
- Save — The profile name is stored with saved content for reference
Profiles are available on all plans, including Free. Create as many profiles as you need and switch between them when generating content.
